A Commanding Perspective
COURSE APPROVAL | Flight Instructor Qualification approved by EASA. Upgrade course approved by Vantage Aviation. |
TARGET POPULATION | Current holders of own country flight instructor certificates or those wishing to gain an instructor qualification. |
PREREQUISITES | Qualified, current and experienced helicopter Pilot with spare capacity. |
COURSE OBJECTIVES | To able to add privileges to the applicant's certificate to enable the ability to instruct additional courses. |
GROUND TRAINING | Varies on course and experience, typically from 1 to 14 days. |
FLIGHT TRAINING | Varies on course and experience, typically from 2 to a 21 days. |
TRAINING SEQUENCE | The course can be conducted in the UK and USA or using the client’s own aircraft. |
COURSE COMPLETION | On completion the students will be issued a certificate approved by Vantage Aviation and licence endorsement by the CAA. |
EASA
Flight Instructor course can be conducted in USA or USA and generally completed in either Cabri G2 or Bell 206.
The upgrade course prepares the individual for higher courses (examiner) or can be utilised ti improve the basic skill level of the instructor.
FAA
Pathways to add privileges or remove restrictions to the applicants Flight Instructor Certificate include the following:
-Night Instructor
—–Typically 2 hours of ground and 1 to 2 night flights to proficiency
-IMC & Instrument Rating Instructor
——-Contact to discuss individual situation.
-Multi Engine Class Rating Instructor
——-5 hours flight instruction with an approved FIC Instructor and 10 hours of groundschool must be completed, followed by an assessment of competence with an approved Flight Instructor Examiner
